October 27, 2021 Dear Community, Please see below for an official statement from Tompkins County Public Health Director, Frank Kruppa. “Tompkins County Health Department is no longer requiring the siblings of symptomatic children to be automatically excluded. If they can be checked and found to have no symptoms, they can remain in school pending a test result from the sibling”. If the symptomatic sibling tests positive for COVID-19 then the siblings would be excluded based on contact tracing rules both school based and in the home. “Our effort is to avoid unnecessary exclusions from school and with the onset of cold and flu season we want to ensure that a case is confirmed by test result before excluding siblings”. Kind Regards, Kimberly Bell Superintendent of Schools

September 23, 2021 Dear Trumansburg Community, I regret to inform you that we have been notified by the DOH that one of our MS students has tested positive for COVID-19. There are no additional contacts to report for exposure for this particular case. As a point of clarity, of the two cases reported yesterday, only one attends our MS, the other child attends an alternate program. Thank you for working with us to keep you and your family safe. As always, our thoughts are with those directly impacted. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your building principal. Respectfully, Kimberly Bell Superintendent TCSD

September 22, 2021 Dear Trumansburg Community, Our safe return to in-person instruction requires that we are vigilant in creating a health and safety culture. We continue to use multiple mitigation strategies to eliminate the spread of COVID-19 however, with the increase in the number of cases locally it is inevitable that we experience more exposures at school. With that said, we have notified by the DOH that two of our MS students have tested positive for COVID-19. The two cases (1 of the 2 students attends an alternate program and does not report to our campus) are unrelated. We are working closely with the contact tracing staff of Tompkins County Department of Health to notify all parties of exposure and the next steps of the protocol to keep our community safe. Thank you for working with us to keep you and your family safe. As always, our thoughts are with those directly impacted. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your school principal. Respectfully, Kimberly Bell Superintendent TCSD

September 16, 2021 Dear Community, I am reaching out this evening to inform you of two situations impacting our school campus. I learned after business hours today that we have one confirmed adult case of COVID-19. The individual is assigned to the elementary school and was last on campus Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Our team has been working this evening to provide a contact tracing list to the Department of Health. The Department of Health will directly reach out to those individuals that need to quarantine. I will keep you informed of the exact numbers once I receive that information. Please continue to practice mitigation measures to keep you and our school community safe. Secondly, after business hours today, it was anonymously reported that a suspicious backpack was located/abandoned on our campus. We immediately worked with law enforcement and successfully found and investigated the incident. There is no known threat at this time. Kindly, Kimberly Bell Superintendent of Schools
